Recent figures from the Welsh Government reveal that more than 2,200 jobs have been created and safeguarded during the first year of its new Business Wales, “one stop shop” service.
The streamlined business support service provides direct advice, information and relevant signposting to SMEs in Wales, and has supported more than 20,000 businesses since January 2013.
Freshwater has worked with the Welsh Government and partners to promote the service by implementing a multi-channel campaign including public relations, graphic design and marketing support.
Our integrated campaign focused on case studies of businesses that had benefited from the service to provide real-life inspiration and appeal to a range of SMEs.
Our PR team identified news-worthy case studies that would be of interest to the press and media and ensure a geographical balance to illustrate that the service is available pan-Wales. To supplement the press and media relations activity, we also directed two video case studies to provide visual content for online platforms including Business Wales’ social media channels.
Our graphic design and marketing teams used the real-life case studies to develop a strong and engaging creative for the campaign.
The creative was rolled out across a range of channels as part of Freshwater’s marketing plan, which included 48-sheet, 6-sheet and 4-sheet advertising at railways, radio sponsorship, targeted print and online advertising, Facebook advertising and the development of a bespoke video tab on Facebook.
Freshwater is currently working on burst two of the campaign to build on the successes achieved during the first year of the service. Our PR, graphic design and marketing teams will be continuing to work with the Welsh Government and partners to ensure more Welsh SMEs are aware of the Business Wales service.
