A fresh face at Freshwater as Liz Marsden joins the team

Liz Marsden has joined PR and marketing group Freshwater as the latest addition to its Northern team.

Building on her significant experience working within the private and public sectors, Liz will form part of the specialist team currently providing communications, community engagement and stakeholder relations services to some of the UK’s largest organisations.

As an account manager, Liz will be working on a number of national projects for Freshwater clients including National Grid plc and the City Health Care Partnership in Hull.

Prior to joining Freshwater, Liz worked for a variety of public sector bodies, most recently as the communications manager for the Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Her career in communications began during her time as an information manager at the Yorkshire and Humber Assembly, where the shift towards regionalism saw the Assembly increase their focus on external relations and community consultations tenfold.

Liz said:  “Having worked in the public sector for the past decade, the mix of clients at Freshwater really appealed to me.  I felt that the time was right to take on a fresh challenge, so when the opportunity arose to work for a nationally-recognised agency such as Freshwater, I jumped at the chance.

“This is my first foray into agency life, and it feels like a good fit. I see this role as an opportunity to fuse my public sector background in energy, transport, utilities and public consultation with a return to the private sector.

“In my previous roles I’ve had a lot of involvement in stakeholder events and community engagement and I’m relishing the chance to work again in this arena, at both a regional and national level.”

Freshwater chief executive Steve Howell added: “We’re always keen to attract staff from across a range of sectors and Liz’s skill set, as well as her background in community consultation and health fields will complement, and enhance, our existing team well.  I’m really pleased Liz has joined us and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
