Freshwater supported the Trust in the lead up to, and during, the publicising of its first CQC report since the opening of its new multi-million pound ‘super hospital’, Southmead Hospital. A member of our team was seconded for an agreed amount of days per week so they could immerse themselves in the communications team, with additional strategic support also available on request.
We provided the team with a summary document of the key takeaways from the CQC report with a narrative and key messages developed in response, while other issues were captured in a wider Q&A document. We media trained key staff and set up filming and interview opportunities at the hospital, as well as organised staff and external stakeholder briefings.
We also helped develop positive case studies about the teams and services at the hospital praised within the report. All of these case studies were timed to go live on its website and in newsletters at the same time the report went live to help give a balanced view of the report.
Media coverage was balanced on the issues raised in the report, while also highlighting the teams and departments at the Trust that were praised within the report.
