The University of South Wales (USW) appointed Freshwater to help it develop a national awards ceremony to highlight entrepreneurial talent and innovative businesses across the UK.
In the lead up to the event, Freshwater worked with USW to develop the award categories, prizes and the name – Making Business Happen Awards.
We also developed an integrated PR and social media campaign to raise awareness of the awards and to encourage entries, specifically targeting teachers and entrepreneurs.
A media deal was brokered with The Business Insider across all of its UK networks and Freshwater managed the contracts for the awards sponsors, including NatWest and Santander.
Freshwater’s digital team designed and built the award’s website, which hosts rich content including an informative video, filmed and edited by Freshwater, as well as information on why and how to enter the awards and an entry portal for submissions.
Our events team also managed all aspects of the awards ceremony itself from coordinating the venue and catering, securing presenters and producing videos to showcase the finalists.
We exceeded the university’s target for award entries, generated media coverage across the UK and helped the university to build relationships with businesses and raise its profile to potential students.
Following the success of the Making Business Happen Awards, Freshwater has been commissioned to manage another awards programme for USW.
